We understand that most people aren’t tech geeks (not that there is anything wrong with that :). We have a combined 45 years of experience in this industry, and have spent years researching products and different technologies in an effort to put together systems that are cost-effective and simple to use.

Our approach gives homeowners the option to “pre-wire” themselves, or with help from us. (We can digitally record wire locations before the walls go up). It helps to begin with the end in mind. Planning for what you want in each room will save you money. It is common, but more expensive to wire for every contingency. With 4Home Control, we can design your system with “best practices” in mind, and just before you move in, after the dust has not just settled (but been eliminated) and finish the job with professional and experienced execution.

We understand the “do it yourself” and must have the cheapest price mentality. For this we recommend Costco, Best Buy, or the on-line shopping. They make money by stacking deep and selling cheap . They offer poor or no demonstration, superficial, and sometimes inaccurate information.

Our margin comes from selling quality products, and we basically break even on services. If you buy your gear on-line or somewhere else, we have a difficult time promising that it can be controlled or will work with a system. Then there is the issue of on going services and support. If you use us for our knowledge and expertise to showcase, educate, and design your system... only to then go buy from them to save ten bucks, you will most likely find that you are spending more through wasted time and incompatibility problems. We hope you will understand that this works wonderfully for them, but not for us....and ultimately...not for you.

4Home Control strives to serve the needs of our clients in the gap that exists between “trunk slammers (working out of their van)”, and no/low service “big box stores” that sell “mass market” low fidelity electronics... and the “intimidating” and sometimes snobby ultra-high end expensive boutiques.

Some small “dealers” without a showroom, might be the lowest bid. They just have to cover the cost of their truck and their house payment. Maybe they will do your system right.. and maybe they will still be around in six months? We have a number of clients, that started with someone else, and came to us to finish the job. Your system will only be as good as the professionals that install, configure, program, and support it. Once again, we have a combined 45 years of experience.

On the other hand, if you want “cost no object” esoteric products with services that include unreasonable expectations like pick-up and delivery of your dry cleaning, we can recommend some reputable places to work with. They work with a handful of clients that pay exorbitant prices for expensive proprietary systems that can take up to a year to install, but are not necessarily more powerful or easy to use.
